Mellisa Carlson, LCSW

Mellisa Carlson joined Heritage Health in 2021 and currently works as a mental health clinician and quality assurance specialist. Mellisa has been working in the mental health field for more than 10 years and went into the profession because she is passionate about helping people who are experiencing mental health struggles find hope and healing.

Mellisa specializes in helping people with trauma-related disorders, anxiety, depression, and stress. Mellisa especially loves working with children, adolescents, and their parents. Mellisa primarily practices from an attachment-focused perspective and integrates a variety of therapies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Circle of Security, and Trust-Based Relational Intervention among others.

Originally from St. Maries, Idaho, Mellisa loves reading, gardening, hiking, playing video games, and spending time with her husband and daughter.

Mellisa earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from University of Idaho in 2012, and she earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from Boise State University in 2017.

 A fun fact about Mellisa is that she has a pet ball python named Julius Squeezer.
