Tracey Sutton
Director of Therapy Services
Tracey joins Heritage Health through Family Support Services, where she has been the Clinical Supervisor since 2010. Her experience working with children and families began in 1991 in Sandpoint where she was the Executive Director of a small non-profit organization that used experiential and adventure-based counseling to address risky behaviors.
Tracey left Sandpoint in 2000 to be closer to the family on the east coast and served as the Director of School Operations for a therapeutic boarding school for troubled adolescents until she entered the Social Work program at Smith.
Following graduation, Tracey was a clinical social worker at Emma Pendleton Bradley Hospital in Rhode Island until 2009, when she returned to North Idaho.
Currently, she is the VP of Therapy Services for Heritage Health, and was a member of the adjunct faculty of Boise State University School for Social Work from January 2013 through May 2018.
Originally from Long Island, New York, Tracey loves the outdoor recreation that the Pacific Northwest has to offer.
Kayaking, hiking, gardening, and biking are her favorite ways to spend free time unless it’s snowing and cross-country skiing becomes the way to enjoy nature with family and friends.
Tracey earned her Bachelor’s degree from Lewis-Clark State College on the Coeur d’Alene Campus in 2000 and her Master’s degree from Smith College School for Social Work in Western Massachusetts in 2004. Tracey was awarded the 2013 LeRoy Spaniol Educator Award for her contributions toward educating and mentoring new leaders in psychiatric rehabilitation
