Jokke Kokkonen

Jokke Kokkonen, DO joined Heritage Health in 2023 and currently works as a family medicine physician. He went into family medicine due to a desire to develop long-lasting relationships built on trust with his patients and to provide them with evidence-based medical care. 

Dr. Kokkonen specializes in helping people with a wide range of medical issues with his background in family medicine. He loves working with patients because he wants them to live their best lives.

Originally from the north shore of Oahu, Dr. Kokkonen loves camping, hiking, rockhounding, gardening, cooking, studying history, and traveling with his family. 

Dr. Kokkonen earned his Bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University in physiology and developmental biology in 2013 and his doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from A.T. Still University (Kirksville, Missouri) in 2020. He completed his family medicine residency at Idaho State University (Pocatello, Idaho) in 2023.

A fun fact about Dr. Kokkonen is that he often gets asked about the pronunciation of his first name. It is pronounced “yo-kay.” If you would like to know where his name comes from and the story behind it, feel free to ask about it at your visit with him. Be ready for a dad joke!
