Dean Sparks

Dean Sparks is the Rathdrum Clinic's Medical Director. He is a physician assistant.

Dean worked on the front lines of emergency medicine for most of his professional career, including nearly 18 years as a paramedic. Then he worked for 13 years at an urgent care clinic.

Opting to get more involved with direct patient care and decision-making, Sparks decided to return to school. He received his Physician Assistant from Stanford Primary Care and his Master’s Degree from A.T. Still University.

Today he is focused on general family medicine.

Before coming to Heritage Health, Sparks worked at Kaizer Permanente in Spokane. He grew up outside of Los Angeles, living in the Antelope Valley, Palmdale Calif.

Sparks and his wife have two adult children. He enjoys fly fishing, hiking and taking walks.

A fun fact about Dean is that he collects 1980s Los Angeles Lakers memorabilia.
